Every child deserve early start in education.

In response to Adela Moreno blog posting on August 8, 2014. titled "An early start at education for all" " found her blog titled "Forgotten Alamo" i quite agree with her that every child regardless of parents financial background need to be given the equal opportunity of starting education at an early age mostly pre-k.  This is because it enhances the child educational performance in the future; a child who starts at the early age to obtain his educational goal may be more likely to succeed in future education than the child who is denied such opportunity. Also a child who starts school early is likely to be respectful and more obedient to parents; most schools teach children to be well behaved and every child should be given such opportunity.

Also i believe the act "No Child Left Behind" is like a barrier to most students especially those children from a wealthy background who is being left out because of their parents financial status, however this country needs an educational reform that will advance the progress of every student at the earliest possible time of their life, not the reform that will strict some set of students.

Children should not be denied access to early education because of the status of their parents, however every child should be carried through school in order to secure their future; they should not be blame for their parent financial status. The Texas government should work towards that and ensure that all children are treated equally in terms of education and not through monitoring of their parents financial qualification.

Tuition cost in Texas

The cost that is incurred in a person's educational process which may include, cost of classes, cost of books, cost of some logistics like parking permit, uniforms, writing materials and so on may be regarded as tuition or school fees. The above mentioned costs may be put into consideration when a person is trying to enroll into a particular school or the other.  Also the ability to afford such money may encourage or hinder a person from going further in his or her educational pursuit regardless of loan accessibility. I believe that Texas should make tuition affordable for all because it will enable many people to attend colleges and also increase the rates of graduates from colleges.
Tuition cost in many Texas university is increasing on daily basis, thereby making it difficult for most young people to attend colleges. I am talking about most people with one talent or the other who wish to pursue an educational career based on their natural gifts, may have the hopes and dreams shattered as a result of the tuition cost, thus having amazing talents and the possibility of having an amazing future might not be able to come by as a result of tuition cost.  Many young adults have given up on their dreams as a result of high cost of tuition while others now have a large amount of debt, a big amount of money as a result of unending student loans. The government should think about those who may not want a student loan but instead prefer an affordable tuition, thereby encouraging the percentage of people who attend colleges.
In the other hand, making tuition cost affordable will increase the rates of graduates from colleges and high school in the sense that more people will be likely to enroll into school knowing they can afford the tuition from first year to their final year in school, which will in turn increase the number of graduating student from both colleges and high school. Currently the news reveals that more Texas high school students are graduating high school with the 88%, I believe if the tuition is mostly affordable, that percentage average can increase.
In conclusion, government should make the tuition costs affordable through different means, thereby enabling the young people to be able to attend colleges as well as increase the percentage of graduates in the state.

Should toll roads be paid for?

In response to Adela Moreno blog posting on July 25, 2014. titled " Driving is not always priceless" found her blog titled "Forgotten Alamo" i must respectively disagree with her opinion  that paying of toll roads by taxpayers should be free in the sense that it is a choice to decide whether or not to pay for toll roads.  It is not a must that everybody will have to pay for toll roads, in other words those who decides to drive through toll roads should be able to pay for it as well. Since there is always alternatives to toll road, i think it is avoidable other than saying it should be free.  For example, i always drive through the alternative roads to toll road, as a matter fact i set my GPS  to avoid toll roads and i don't have to worry about paying for toll roads.  However someone who feels they must drive through toll roads should be able to pay for it as well.

Also the money charged in toll road are very cheap and affordable by people who use those toll roads when they compare it to the cost of gas, those who use it might prefer to use toll road than to drive extra mile consuming their gas. Also most people believe that using toll roads enables them to meet up an appointment when in a hurry. Knowing this benefits make me believe it is worth paying for by those who use it. Rate of toll roads for the current year can be viewed in the following website  http://www.mobilityauthority.com/projects/183a.php

Texas should have to pay for toll roads if they use it, those money gotten from toll roads might be useful to the government in providing certain service that we all might enjoy.  Maintaining the roads is the most important thing and not the issue of paying of for toll roads.  Therefore those who use toll roads should pay for it regardless of the location of the toll roads.

Should Texas implement a state income tax.

A tax is a compulsory contribution to state revenue, levied by the government on workers' Income and business profits or added to the cost of some goods, services, and transactions. State income tax is a way the state government levy taxes on their residents' income as well as their businesses and investments.  Currently, seven states which includes Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming has imposed no income tax whatsoever on their citizens. Two other states, Tennessee and New Hampshire, have no tax on wages or business income, reserving taxes only for investment income from dividends and interest.  Most people believe that enforcing state income taxes help in the growth of the economy of such state but have neglected the impact of such decisions on the income of the resident and the cost of living in such state. I believe that Texas should not implement income tax on its resident because of the Standard of living, income of the residents and the migration pattern in Texas.
However, when comparing Texas with some other state that implemented state income tax, you will agree with me that the cost of living in Texas is low in the sense that things are much affordable here in Texas in terms of education, housing and other things; an average person can easily survive in Texas than most states with income tax.  Most people are able to survive here because of there is no such taxes cutting on their monthly income thereby making the standard of living obtainable by most people.
Also, Texas should not implement state income tax because of the population growth (migration pattern) in the sense that most states with no income tax have a big competitive advantage over their taxing counterparts.  That is most of those states had above-average population growth. Nevada grew by the largest percentage of any state, while Texas had the biggest raw population gain over the decade.  This shows that lots of people might prefer to live in a tax free state than a state with state income tax as well as high standard of living.
Last but not the least, the income of Texans is very low having the minimum wage of $7.25 per hour when compared to states who pay state income tax like Massachusetts having a minimum wage of $15 per hour. An average Texan with a family, working 40 hours a week and receives the minimum wage might not be able to afford extra tax after having the Federal income tax, social security tax and Medicare deducted from his income.  In other words, the State's minimum wage has to increase for it to levy state tax.
In conclusion, all other things being equal, most people might gravitate to states with no income tax having an affordable standard of living despite the low income. If these trend continues, then high-tax states might find themselves facing significant difficulty in attracting the people they need in order to promote growth

Perry expected to call up National Guard to Rio Grande Valley

on July 21, 2014, the Texas Fred blog wrote  "Perry expected to call up National Guard to Rio Grande Valley".  America has been battling with illegal immigrant coming from various part of the world, and have even given amnesty to some illegal immigrants in the past.  Many of us, if not all of us will acknowledge that the issue of illegal immigrants coming from the border might not stop unless something is done about it.  This commentary confirms that Gov. Rick Perry is expected to announce that he will activate up to 1000 Texas national guard troops to the Rio Grande valley, as confirmed by the state's senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen.
The purpose  of these troops is to reinforce the work already being done with the surge of Texas department of public safety troopers.  This decision is good when it comes to securing the Texas border, but it also means that it is the responsibility of the state to pay the salaries of the troops, feed, clothe and equip those troops and everything else that goes into a call-up of the Guard. The question being, will these guard  troops who will only secure Texas border stop the surge of illegal immigrants?  This is the reason why the federal government need to intervene in this issue of border protection not just in Texas, this also goes for the states of New Mexico, Arizona and California.
The Federal government has the obligation to protect the U.S border from end to end.  I believe the audience are the residents of the United States as well as the Government officials especially the federal government as the writer pointed out saying "I don’t blame this failure to secure the border solely on Barack Hussein Obama; he is not alone in this. No U.S. President has done much of anything to secure the border for several decades now" The writer is claiming that no U.S government has not done anything serious in the past to protect the U.S border. As a matter of fact, the writer noted that "Let me point this out to those not knowing; the Texas Counties along the Rio Grande, from Brownsville to El Paso are under the control of Hispanic Texas Democrats and the state and U.S. Representatives from all along the border are very sympathetic to the illegals that are flooding Texas, and thus the USA, and will fight tooth and nail to keep the borders open allowing the invasion to continue" I don't agree with the writer on this in the sense that not all Hispanic Texas Democrats may support illegal immigrants, and i believe the U.S government and Texas government are addressing the issue at hand.

A love letter to Texas women in politics, for Grace Garcia

on June 3, 2014, letters from Texas wrote an article titled "A love letter to Texas women in politics, for Grace Garcia". This article is actually talking about woman and their contribution to Texas state and local government also in the United State as a whole. It also tells us the role women had played in the society in terms of participating in the politics of both the present and past governing system. The author exhibited some credibility when he mentioned some past and present women who have in one way or the other been a leader in Texas as well as the United States.  A few prime examples: Mary Beth Rogers, Ann Richards’ chief of staff. Cecile Richards, founding Executive Director of Texas Freedom Network, and now President of Planned Parenthood. Samantha Smoot, former Executive Director of Texas Freedom Network. Deirdre Delisi, Rick Perry’s former chief of staff. Sarah Floerke, field director of Greg Abbott’s campaign for governor.  The author sees these women in government as dedicated to their duties and has achieved their goals successfully and diligently.  Especially with the fact that women has to be twice as good as a man for them to be noticed and their voice heard in the affairs of government, they are still strong and consistently demonstrating that they earn their seats at the table and will do great if they are much in politics as well. They have also worked harder to achieve political and policy objectives successfully. This article also indicates how women in the past has contributed a great deal to the state; woman like Grace Garcia who was a leader with collections of experience, skills and smart that no one will compete with, she was also dedicated in raising other women in the society and contributing to the welfare of the community as well.
There are lots of evidence to this in our today's society.  Many women have stood strong in their various family, raising their children alone. Apart from in the society, many women have automatically became the head of their family, making sure their children and every member of their household get the best in the society. This article was written to remind woman their value in the society, appreciate them and also as the remembrance of Grace Garcia.  Work sited, Harold cook "A love letter to Texas women in politics, for Grace Garcia" Letters from Texas.
